I purchased a Sony Vaio laptop last September for my business and use it for everything.

The purpose of many of the Sony VAIO notebooks are to provide a portable and lightweight laptop for computer users.

Pros: The Sony VAIO notebooks are ultra portable and unbelievably durable. The design is luxuriously sleek. Many Sony VAIO notebooks weighs in at less than 3 pounds and is less than one inch thick. Now that is what I call thin and portable. Only Sony’s cutting-edge, power-saving technology combined with Intel Centrino Duo processor technology could efficiently manage power resources to deliver an amazing 4 to 7.5 hours of standard battery life.

If you get one with fingerprint biometrics included you will find that is a convenient and secure way to protect your computer and your personal information that is on it. And you gain access with just a swipe of your finger.

Cons: The lack of a guarantee of satisfaction is always a bit troubling to me. The laptop comes with a manufacturers guarantee, but PC Mall does not offer any kind of guarantee of satisfaction. The manufacturer’s guarantee might be adequate.

The quality of Sony VAIO laptops, however, appears to be good and I can find no cons associated with it. Mine has been through a lot and is still working like new. I had wanted a Sony VAIO for the last year or two and have not been disappointed with the one I purchased.

Guarantee: There is no guarantee offered by PC Mall. The only guarantees that apply are manufacturer guarantees. When I have purchased from PC Mall I've been very happy with the product and have never had a bad experience.

Value for money: The Sony VAIO notebooks are an excellent laptop at a competitive price. It is a good value. Right now PC Mall has several models available at sale prices.

Jack Humphrey, author of the famed Power Linking course, has decided to open a new membership site. Instead of constantly trying to keep his Power Linking course updated he will now be able to provide all members the most current information on how to get thousands of incoming links through the newest and most up-to-date methods.

In 2007 the favorite method was social bookmarking, social news sites, and places like Squidoo and HubPages. Jack includes a list of the best of these on the membership site.

What will it be in 2008? Join Social Power Linking and find out.

Why did I join this membership? First, because Jack is an expert at linking. He knows how to get links, and people pay thousands of dollars a month for his linking service.

Second, I joined because I need the information provided. There are videos to watch, PDFs to download and read, and a fantastic forum for masterminding with other like-minded individuals. Our goals are all the same - get thousands of links coming to our sites in order to increase the number of visitors. After all, more visitors equals more income.

Internet marketers know that there are always more techniques to use, new methods to discover, and that we never stop learning. What I learn from Jack will more than cover my investment.

Third, I joined because it is affordable. Jack doesn't over-charge. He's fair and reasonable. That's one of the things I really like about Jack Humphrey.

I've listed three reasons why I joined. Why should you join?

If you have heard of Web 2.0 or "bending the web" then you might have an idea what Social Power Linking involves. It's all about how to get more visitors to your site through thousands of incoming links. Jack takes you step by step using what he calls a 60 day jump start. Each day you have an assignment to complete.

At the end of the 60 days you should have greatly increased the amount of traffic you are getting. On sites I've used these techniques I've had traffic increase dramatically. I have one site that had stayed at a pagerank of 5 for over a year suddenly jump to a pagerank of 6.

I was taught those techniques at Jack's other membership site Authority Site Center. At Social Power Linking Jack goes more in-depth and uncovers more linking secrets. I expect to greatly increase my traffic numbers in the next few months and years as I follow along with other members and discover new methods as the web continues to evolve.

Does Social Power Linking deliver? Yes, it does, and I expect to see fantastic results in 2008.

Comparing Portal Feeder and Authority Site Center - Two Really Hot Memberships

In another post I mentioned that I'm a member of Portal Feeder and have been for almost a year. I am also a member of Authority Site Center, where I joined in the winter of 2006. Since I am a member of both I feel qualified to write a comparison of these two membership sites.

In some ways Portal Feeder and Authority Site Center are alike. They both have great forums, lots of training available in archive as well as ongoing, and they both provide some powerful tools for making money online. But there are many differences, as well.

Differences include:

Portal Feeder focuses on HTML sites and has a powerful software that fills the web site automatically at intervals that you specify

Authority Site Center focuses on building blogs that are authority sites

Authority Site Center has 2-3 webinars every week during which you can ask questions, whereas Portal Feeder has webinars more sporadically

Authority Site Center has a fantastic software for creating blogs that with regular posting and some smart promotion will do great in the search engines and get good pagerank

Portal Feeder has more tools included in the membership than Authority Site Center for getting links to your sites

Authority Site Center has two levels of membership, one (half price) creates one blog for you (your topic) and some training, the other tier creates one blog a month for you and gives you access to all the training

ASC is always open for new members, whereas Portal Feeder is only open for new members when they decide to open the doors

Similarities include:

great forum

great training (each has some training that the other does not)

each has some great tools, and with a lot of time and hard work you can succeed

both have very awesome programmers who are continually coming up with amazing business-building tools

each are operated by a very knowledgeable team

both have hired people from within the members to join the operating team

The reason for the two levels of membership fees at Authority Site Center is to provide people a less expensive introduction to ASC. If people like what ASC offers and want more than one blog that uses ASC's own version of Wordpress, they can upgrade at any time to the full-paid membership.

Portal Feeder is a little bit more expensive than ASC's full membership, but they provide more tools. There are many tools that you can download and use forever, and there are tools that are only available to members. They are very generous, and their goal is to help you succeed.

As a member of both, I see a good reason for Portal Feeder to only open to new members for a short time every now and then. When new members are constantly joining time has to constantly be given to training them from the start. It might not seem significant, but it can be helpful to have have everyone beyond the beginning stages so time can be focused on intermediate and advanced training.

Which membership do I prefer? That is really hard to say. I am a member of both, and enjoy both. They are different enough from each other that I believe the expense is justified. I see them as investments in my business. Also, since I am making enough money to cover the expense, there is no reason to leave. The only drawback is my time limits. It would be great if I could focus 4-5 hours on each of them every day.

If the price of Portal Feeder is too high for you, then I highly recommend Authority Site Center. For less than $100 you get one blog set up for you using their souped-up version of Wordpress. You also get a lot of training. For less than $200 you get one blog a month set up for you and access to all the training materials. I have been a member of ASC since the winter of 2006. It's where I first started to make money online.

Whichever you join, you must be serious about making money online, and and be willing to put a lot of time and effort into it.

What I like about both Portal Feeder and Authority Site Center is they offer great tools, great training, fantastic forums, get you focused on what needs to be done to make a living online, and so much more.

I have sites with both memberships that have done very well. One site with ASC reached pagerank 6 in 16 months. Several sites with Portal Feeder have keywords showing up on the first page of the search engines (when they were just 1 month old).

If you have been wanting to join Portal Feeder, now is the time. If you can not afford the price, then I highly recommend you get started with Authority Site Center for now, get a blog up, focus your time and energy on that one site, and start making some money.

The important thing is you get started now. Take action. Eventually you will be able to invest in your business by upgrading to the full membership at ASC, and maybe even join Portal Feeder next time they open the doors to new members.

The money back guarantee gives you the freedom to try Portal Feeder out and if you find it isn't what you expected then cancel and get your money back. So basically, there is no risk to trying it out for a month.

I've already written a review of Portal Feeder here (you can read it at Review of Portal Feeder). But I wanted to let you know that Portal Feeder opened their doors today at noon. For a short time you can sign up and try it out (they even have a money back guarantee).

The money back guarantee gives you the freedom to try it out and if you find it isn't what you expected then cancel and get your money back. So basically, there is no risk to trying it out for a month.

Already I mentioned that I've been a member since spring of 2007. I've seen all the tools they offer, and learned from their excellent training. I've made use of the 500+ blogs available for members to post onto to get links pointing to my sites, and I've put up 6 sites. But I could have done more.

It takes time and effort, but if you are willing to be generous with both, Portal Feeder provides everything you need to succeed except domain name registration and hosting.

Sign up and give it a try. You have nothing to lose. If you focus all your energy on the training and on making sites for the first month, I think you will be impressed how well you can do.

Anyone who uses AdWords will be interested in this free tool that Portal Feeder is offering for a short time. If you use AdWords, check it out. Watch the video and see if this tool will help you.

If you are not using AdWords now, check it out anyway in case some day you want to use AdWords and end up kicking yourself for not taking advantage of this free download.

You can find it here: AdWords ROI Explosion

The video at that site explains it all. By putting in your keywords the tool returns a bunch of sites that are highly targeted for your niche. It even tells you if those sites show AdSense ads or not. And it tells you the Alexa rankings for each site.

You take that information and copy those URLs that you want to have your AdWords ads show up on. You put that information in the Google AdWords site placement area and your ads will show up on those sites.

Because your ads are now showing up on highly targeted, high traffic sites, your conversion rate should go up as your AdWords expense goes down.

This is a great tool. The price is right, it provides a needed function, and it will help you make more money with AdWords while spending less.

One of the best ways for getting links pointing to your site is to comment on blogs and include the URL for your site. But finding blogs that have page rank, that discuss the right topic, and then filling in the comment form can take a lot of time.

Not any more. CommentKahuna Software is a piece of software that you download onto your computer. Once installed you open it up, fill in your name, e-mail and URL that you want to use, give Comment Kahuna a few parameters to search on, and within seconds you are provided a list of blogs where you can post a comment.

The parameters include:

keyword

number of blogs to return

minimum pagerank you want

type of blog (Wordpress, Typepad, etc)

Comment Kahuna returns a list of blogs that meet the parameters and you simply click each one, make a comment, and hit the submit button. What used to take an hour or two can now take a few minutes.

The newest version even sniffs out blogs that use "nofollow" so you can find the blogs that follow your link to your site!

Comment Kahuna could easily be sold but right now you can download a free copy: FREE CommentKahuna Software

There is a video on the site that demonstrates how to use it. It gives you step by step instructions for using Comment Kahuna.

I highly recommend it if you want to increase the incoming links to your site, get more visitors, and grow your online business. You can't beat the price, and it's a great tool to have, too.

Sure there are some great security features built into Vista that pretty much prevent you from doing anything to your machine, but what is the cost? The user experience really has taken a hit with this release.

We have had some time now to get accustomed to Microsoft's latest incarnation of Windows with its release of Vista. And it seems the general consensus is….PASS!

If you are considering a new computer, understand the hardware has not caught up to the physical demands set forth by Microsoft and it's newly born cash cow.

The most important upgrade you could buy to make your computer experience worthwhile is more memory. In other words, the hardware needs to catch up to the software.

Running 512k memory is useless so don't even bother to buy one with this amount of memory. You have to get AT LEAST 1 gig of memory to even consider running Vista.

But here is a point to consider, why should you have to go out and spend more money on more memory just to be able to run a spreadsheet and watch the latest episode of 30 Rock? Why should any new machine slog along as if it has been subjected to year’s worth of unprotected malware attacks?

Sure there are some great security features built into Vista that pretty much prevent you from doing anything to your machine, but what is the cost? The user experience really has taken a hit with this release.

Why? Vista takes at least 350k of memory for it just to run. WOW! Nothing like streamlining your software Bill since you have only delayed the launch four times.

People have been buying computers for twenty years now and at no time was your new machine worse than the old one! It seems as if Microsoft and the hardware people need to get together and come up with a decent performance standard that would be acceptable for everyone.

Companies like CompUSA and Best Buy are charging consumers $150-$200 to UNISTALL Vista! That's right, up to $200 to take the software off of your machine. Seems like we really have taken a step back with this upgrade.

The new UI (user interface) is clean and rounded and bubbly and smooth and looks nice. There is a bit of a learning curve with some of the functionality so you want to spend some time going over the built in "what’s new" function.

Microsoft seems to be taking user feedback and using it to eliminate or bury unused features. For example, in previous incarnations of Windows you would get to the "Run" feature (used primarily when your DVD or CD that was supposed to autorun decides not to run) by going to Start>Run.

Vista hides Run - here is your trick. Start>Acessories>Run, not too big a deal, but it is if you can't find it where you have been looking for it for the last four years.

In short, if you are in the market for a new machine, put your arms around the fact that you are getting Vista no matter what. Just make sure you save a few bucks to upgrade your memory or your user experience is not going to be what you want it to be.

When you're pressed for time, it's not much fun scrolling through an FAQ page to find out how to complete a task you used to do with your eyes closed.

It's that time again: a major upgrade has been released for software you use regularly, and when you read about all the bells and whistles, you start salivating. Hmmm… can you afford an extra couple of hundred to buy it? Should you… or shouldn't you?

Too often, eager consumers become carried away by the hype and slap down a credit card - only to find that the upgrade comes with headaches, or the extra features are not worth it. To buy or not to buy becomes an easier decision if you run through a quick checklist.

1. Will You Use The New Features?

Sure, your new software can do everything but cook dinner - but how many of these features do you actually need? Are you thinking: "Well, I don't need these now but they might come in handy later…"? If so, you could be going to needless expense. You can always upgrade when you DO need the new features.

2. Will You Lose Any Favorite 'Old' Features?

Sometimes it's a toss-up - will what you gain outweigh what you lose? A quick example: many users have been delighted with the new layout of tools in Microsoft Office 2007, and find that they can do their work much faster (or more easily). Others are aghast to find that their old macros won't work - and that they can no longer customize toolbars full of autotext for different purposes. Make sure you know exactly how the program has changed before you upgrade.

3. Compatibility - Will Others Be Able to Read Your Files?

This is an important one. There's not usually a problem with importing files in an older format, but you can face big problems if you send files in the new format to others. Microsoft Office 2007, for example, saves files in a very different format.

You can set the default to save files in the standard format for older versions of Office, but if you forget, you're likely to get irritated phone calls from others telling you that they can't open your files. (Yes, they can download a compatibility pack from Microsoft - but it's another step they have to take before they can make use of your file.)

4. Can You Afford The Learning Curve?

When an upgrade is significantly different from what has gone before, you're going to have to factor in time to become familiar with the new version. This might not be a problem if you have plenty of time to do it (it can even be fun) but if you are constantly racing to meet deadlines, then block off enough hours to learn how to use the new features. When you're pressed for time, it's not much fun scrolling through an FAQ page to find out how to complete a task you used to do with your eyes closed.

Bottom line: before you invest in any upgrade, do your homework. Read the reviews and visit a few forums to see what problems real-world users have encountered. Make your own list of pluses and minuses, then make an educated decision about your purchase. If you do decide to buy, keep a working version of the old software on your backup machine or on a different drive.

Clickbank is a great way to get hundreds or thousands of affiliates to sell your downloadable products. It is also a great way to earn money as an affiliate by promoting the products that others are selling through Clickbank.

It is entirely possible that someone reading this article may never have heard of Clickbank. For those of us that "eek out" a living online, Clickbank is one of the core resources used to generate cash flow.

Clickbank is a great way to get hundreds or thousands of affiliates to sell your downloadable products. It is also a great way to earn money as an affiliate by promoting the products that others are selling through Clickbank.

Affiliate Sales
There are thousands of downloadable digital products for sale at Clickbank in a variety of categories covering a wide range of topics. When products are added to Clickbank by the sellers they are given the opportunity to allow for affiliate sales. The product owner determines the percentage to be paid to the affiliate, if any.

Anyone can view all the products with affiliate sales potential at this link:
http://clickbank.com/marketplace/

Once a category is clicked on in the Clickbank Marketplace, sub-categories and product listings appear. For example, today in the 'Business to Business' category the top selling product listed is: Data Entry Ads Online - Join The Best! [Earn 50%].

As an affiliate marketer, you would click on the [Earn 50%] link and fill in your Clickbank ID to capture the correct Clickbank Hoplink for the product. This Hoplink would be used in conjunction with all ads directing traffic to a particular product.

Each product Hoplink contains the ID of the affiliate and the ID of the seller thus making successful affiliate sales attributable to the correct parties.

Clickbank has an automated tracking system that determines which affiliate, if any, is to be associated with the sale. Although Clickbank feels their tracking system is "more fair and accurate than any alternative" it is still not perfect.

There are apparently ways for unscrupulous people to take advantage of the system for their benefit at the expense of those of us who do not delve into such matters. Link cloaking can be useful in these situations.

The benefits of affiliate marketing through Clickbank far outweigh any potential negative experiences that may arise due to an unscrupulous few.

Direct Product Sales (Your Own Products)
A popular way for internet marketers to get their products to the public is by using Clickbank payment processing. Clickbank makes it very easy for anyone to sell a downloadable product through their service and their fees are not likely to be out of the reach of anyone with computer access.

Although not shy about being one of the most expensive payment processors on the Internet, Clickbank makes up for their several imperfections by general ease of use and reliable service.

It is simple to sign-up for a Clickbank ID; just go to Clickbank.com and create an account. You can begin to promote affiliate products immediately after your membership is confirmed.
http://clickbank.com/signup/

To sell your own products on Clickbank there is a seven step process:

(1) Signup with Clickbank

(2) Make a "Pitch Page"
http://clickbank.com/setup.html#ppp

(3) Make a "Thank You Page"
http://clickbank.com/setup.html#thankyou

(4) Make a Test Purchase
http://clickbank.com/setup.html#test

(5) Submit Product Approval Request
http://clickbank.com/setup.html#limit

(6) Pay $49.95 Product Review Fee
http://clickbank.com/setup.html#activate

(7) Set Your Product Price and Start Making Sales!
http://clickbank.com/setup.html#setprices

It is not mandatory to offer affiliate sales of your products but there is at least one good reason to do so. Often sellers get to a point where affiliate sales produce enough income that they can stop using pay per click advertising to drive traffic to their site. What is lost in direct sales at the full item price is made up by the savings in pay per click marketing.

Overall, Clickbank is an excellent place to get a start in product sales on the Internet. Whether you are selling your own product or putting up affiliate links, the potential to create a viable income is available to everyone.

I've been a member of InfoGoRound since the Winter of 2006 and so believe that I can give an honest review of what I like and don't like about it.

InfoGoRound is a membership site with thousands of articles, similar to an article directory. But it's much better than an article directory because you can put your own name on the articles you use from there.

That's not to say you can take an article, put your name on it, and submit it to an article directory as your own. The article directories do not want duplicate articles and will catch you. But you can take the article, make it unique, and then submit it to the article directories.

You can also take the articles and put them on your own web sites without having to attach a resource box with someone else's name and web site. Or, you can make a few changes to the article so the search engines think you are putting unique content on your site.

InfoGoRound also has a program (included with membership) that will create a newsletter sequence for you. All you have to do is select a topic, run the program, and copy the results into your autoresponder series (Aweber or whatever company you are signed up with).

You can also use the articles to create an e-book. You can give the e-book away on your site as an enticement to sign up for your newsletter, sell the e-book, or use it any way you want.

InfoGoRound also has a program that will create web sites in minutes where you can place Adsense ads. The program takes articles directly from InfoGoRound and creates a niche web site.

How much do you pay for all of this? Well, nothing. That's right, not a penny. You can choose to get reimbursed for the monthly fee by writing and submitting one article each month.

Each month I spend about 1/2 hour writing and submitting one article to InfoGoRound, and each month I get paid $24.95 for writing that one article. That covers the membership fee so that in actuality I am getting access to all these tools and articles for free.

That is why I have been a member of InfoGoRound for so long, and why I will continue to be a member.

I get access to thousands of articles that I can leave alone or alter to be unique, access to tools that creates web sites, autoresponder sequences, and more, and all for free as long as I write one article each month for InfoGoRound. Sounds like an excellent deal to me.

What do I not like about InfoGoRound? Well, it would be nice if I didn't have to write than one article each month, but then they couldn't really stay in business.

Check it out and see if you don't think it's a great deal: InfoGoRound
